As HoE you can be part of a huge transformation project. You will be the responsible and representative of the tech area related to Sellers Cluster, a Business Area of Motor. You will have direct impact detecting points of improvement and autonomy proposing, aligning and boosting technical and process initiatives end to end.
You will have impact on stakeholders (Marketing, Sales, CCare…) and you will coordinate technical managers (Engineering Managers), development teams (Scrum Squads) and leading transversal initiatives like Agile, Accelerate, DDD, Quality, etc and above all, everything that can contribute to improve our vertical and cluster.
You will be the line manager for up to 2 teams doing 1o1s, dev talks, performance reviews, hiring, holidays, onboardings and other personnel actions. All the engineers in your teams will be your reports.
Your teams will be preferably inside the same cluster (cluster is a team agrupation sharing business goals).
As Engineering Manager (EM) you can be a member of the cluster team, being responsible for aligning business needs with the tech strategy participating in OKRs and cluster roadmap discussions.
You will be autonomous to manage the cluster teams composition, aligned with the cluster team and the Engineering Director and other EMs in case there are more than 2 teams inside the cluster.
Acting as a Servant Leader and using our SST framework you will make your teams to be high performant and reach high levels of autonomy and self-sufficiency.
Agile best practices fostering and adoption inside teams will be part of your accountability.
You will be accountable for the projects where your teams are involved even when the scope is broader than only tech and requires collaboration with other stakeholders. You will need to help with project coordination and provide guidance from the tech perspective, involving the right people at the right time, but not acting as tech expert or consultant to all technical aspects. In some projects that accountability would be shared with other key players, like EMs of other involved teams, Product Managers or Project Managers.
You will work in your area strategy actively participating in the yearly plans definition and follow-up.
You will have to balance with pragmatism the short term needs with long term sustainability of your teams' tech stacks aligned with Product needs.
You will foster a feedback culture based on Radical Candor creating a psychologically safe environment.
As EM, you will shape and protect Adevinta's culture using day by day communications, team dynamics, sharing and asking for feedback and being a role model in our behaviors.
You will need to be up to date with the industry technical standards.
You will be in charge of setting the technical strategy aligned with the cluster business goals helping the cluster and teams to find the most efficient way to achieve the goal.
You will plan and execute long term strategies that benefit your team, cluster and Marketplace.
You will be in charge of new strategies and initiatives landing on the cluster ( in example DDD) and teams.
You will provide management mentorship (mentoring others EMs and/or developers with track change desire).

Extensive written and oral communication.
Knowledge and experience working with Agile frameworks, lean startup, scrum, kanban, OKR, etc

Technical skills: Be familiar with the concepts of accelerate metrics and capabilities, testing, AWS, distributed systems, SOLID, java, kotlin, reactjs, microservices, kafka, etc.
