Job Description

Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Develop the sales strategy for our advertising and data propositions.

  • Oversee and enhance the major agency, partner and client relationships.

  • Deliver against ambitious revenue goals in a customer and user focused manner.

  • Day-to-day management of the Key Account management and Agency management team (e.g. sales strategy, driving results, client negotiations, relationship building, pricing and solution provisions).

  • Coach and develop direct reports - identifying development needs and utilising available resources to develop individuals.

  • Accurately forecast and manage revenue pipelines.

  • Provide a structured operating environment for the team.

  • Communicate expectations, roles and responsibilities effectively.

  • Stimulate co-operation between commercial teams and team members.

  • Achieve high levels of motivation and engagement of team members.

  • Develop long-term client / partner relationships and set up a structure to support this.

  • Establish a culture where long term development is balanced with quarterly focus and ownership.

  • Leading quarterly sales goals alignment and evaluation of efficiencies from previous periods.

  • Set and communicate quarterly objectives with the team that align with company goals.

  • Development of reporting and analytics to create insight and recommendations for improvement and positive change within the team.

  • Drive the launch of new revenue initiatives that capitalise on new market opportunities or technical developments.

  • Work closely together with and develop joint market approaches with the Head of Sales for Belgium and Head of Advertiser Success. 

  • Contribute to shaping the advertising and yield product development roadmap.

  • Leverage 3rd party relationships to strengthen the advertising value proposition.

  • Act as a role model, as a leader supporting our core values and behaviours.

  • Build effective relationships with Marketing, Business, Legal, Finance, Analytics and Product teams and foster a collaborative, open approach to share best practices across Adevinta. 

  • Industry networking: represent Marktplaats at relevant industry events and be an active participant in relevant external forums.

  • Personable individual who is fun to be around.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in digital advertising.

  • 8+ years management experience of account/commercial teams.

  • Proven expertise in negotiating complex, commercial/advertising negotiations.

  • Proven track record of building and inspiring high performing commercial teams and delivering results.

  • Network of senior executives within media agencies and advertisers.

  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Deep analytical capabilities.

  • Preferred qualifications: a highly driven commercial leader who is passionate about customer focused advertising solutions, innovation and delivering exceptional results.

  • Ability to effectively navigate and influence formally and informally.

  • In-depth operational understanding of digital advertising.

  • Strong conceptual and abstract thinking capabilities combined with the ability to present complex concepts in an easily comprehensible way.

  • Deep understanding of digital advertising competitive/market landscape.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English.

We are currently seeking a Head of Sales (Advertising) to join our team. This is an exciting leadership role and we are looking for an experienced sales leader with a deep understanding of the advertising ecosystem and the relevant players. Someone who can play a critical role in identifying new commercial opportunities and help us build new relevant solutions for our users and partners. You will lead the NL Advertising Sales team, which is part of the Benelux Advertising Team. You will work closely together with our Advertiser Success team in order to ensure client satisfaction. The role is a combination of leadership, strategic, commercial and technical skills.
